These three concepts are often confused. In reality, each serves a different purpose. Assessment measures the current state. Rating classifies the assessment result by size, complexity, financial structure and personnel criteria. Certification is the independent verification that predefined requirements have been met.
Preserving this distinction is the foundation of impartiality. The independence between the assessing organization and the body that issues the certificate determines the reliability and market reputation of the certification.
The TÖYAK® certification process makes its decisions through a mechanism separate from the assessment process. The certification committee operates independently of the assessment team and bases its decisions solely on evidence.
